I cheated. I actually took these yesterday (Thursday Photos doesn't sound as good)
at a big group photoshoot.
More of these to come.

Joy of Love: Day 14

Assignment: Jewelry
We don't splurge on our kids very often.
We don't have the money
and we don't want spoiled brats on our hands.
But when it came time for Ruby to pick out her medical ID bracelet,
the sky was the limit.

Joy of Love: Day 8

Assignment: Gift from the heart.

Last winter, Go bought me this beautiful black wool coat,
hoping it would help assuage my hatred for the cold and dark winter.
He so gets me.

My favorite part: its upturned collar.

Joy of Love: Day 6

The assignment was really "who they love"
but I changed it to "what they love,"
(and if later on there's an assignment for "what they love",
I'll change it to "who they love" because I'm a maverick.)
This is a "Bunjee,"
which is an Aidan and Anais swaddling blanket,
which are the best things ever
and I'm so glad I uncharacteristically splurged on them.
She loves her Bunjees.
And I mean looooooves.

Joy of Love: Day 2

I (kind of) started a month long photo class (that's free!) with daily assignments called The Joy of Love, which focuses on taking pictures of the people you love. I didn't do Day 1's assignment, but maybe I'll do it today. Anyway, S.A.D. has once again reared it's ugly head (this winter being my absolute worst case I've ever experienced) so I'm trying to do things that will bring me joy (read: get me out of bed. I wish I was kidding.) The class is given by Willette Designs, if anyone is interested in doing it, too. They give tips and such along the way as well. Today's (Day 2's) assignment was to capture your loved one "how they look," as in their true essence. I hit the nail on the head with this assignment: This is so Ruby. Talking and talking and talking, but distracted. Already thinking about the eighth story she's going to tell you while she's telling you her seventh.

Ruby's Camera

Ruby received a camera for her birthday back in June from her Grandma Tena. Today we unlocked its treasures and downloaded everything from its memory card, including two videos I won't be sharing. One is an extremely bumpy 20 minute long tour of my mother's house, a description of every decorative item displayed, along with a step by step guide how to make gluten-free brownies. The other contained a conversation between me and my SIL Sarah while we were on the way to or from, I can't tell, NYC which was unknowingly videotaped. Due to the sensitive material being discussed, it has been deleted forevermore. Your welcome, Sal.

98% of them, Ruby took herself. My Mom and I took a couple at Disneyland since I didn't bring my camera. Anyway, here are some of the greats:

At Disneyland. Unfortunately, Grandma Caren missed the magical moment of May cradling Mickey's face in her hands, kissing his nose and saying "I love you, Mickey."
Olive wasn't as enthused.
This was taken shortly after.

Tea cups

In line for Peter Pan.
Yes, my child was on a leash.
Don't judge until you take a wanderer to a giant amusement park.

4th of July fireworks over the Susquehanna River.

Olive eating efficiently.

Auntie Sarah, checking the working status of her deodorant.
A fruit leather stands by for consumption.

A whistling old lady.

The sunset on the way back from NYC.

Two lovers in the Lincoln Tunnel.

Deep in thought.

Car nap.

Back seat entertainment. Who needs the excitement of NYC when you've got Sarah along?

Ah, Harrisburg. So Much To Offer.

She's a year older now and wiser, too.

This shoot was so much fun and filled with fabulousity.

But Annie, you say, not even five minutes after showing up for the shoot
did you receive death threats from an un-medicated schizophrenic on a bicycle!
And a half an hour later, you stepped right into a pool of bright blue vomit!
In downtown Harrisburg, no less!

How could that be fabulous?

Just lookeee here for what completely made up for
the verbal harassment and the nastiest puke I've ever laid foot in.

Week 27

Olive had her 6 month dr. appointment yesterday,
where I found out things I already knew:
She's tall!
She's chubby!
She has a small head!
She's so alert!
She's so cute!
She's such a good sport!
She spits up a lot!

You likeee da tutu? Get one here.

A.D.D.

I have like a gazillion other things I should be doing but I couldn't leave town without putting up some samples from the shoots I've done in the past couple of months.

Still Shooting Up the Place

I know I haven't said anything about photography in awhile, but I'm still doing photography gigs when I can. The photography blog has now been updated after a hefty hiatus. There will also be more to come as I have four more shoots in the next couple of weeks. Splendid! Click the "annie reynolds photography" link on the sidebar if you dare. Or if you care. Bear. Share. Mare. Hair. La-la-la-la-la.
